I'm Bill (he/they)
For 5 years, I've built, grown, and led high-performing teams of 5-10 designers.
I've done all of this at design agencies, unicorn startups, and Fortune 1 corporations.
My leadership principles are rooted in strengths-based frameworks I've learned through years of study and application. I could talk all day about theory, but my philosophy was best stated by Antoine de St.-Exupery:
"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the people to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea."
Content strategy. UX writing. Content ops.
I do full-stack content design, and I lead teams to do it too.
That means thinking about and designing for the entire customer journey—from awareness to loyalty. And that means building strong partnerships across all areas of content expertise—from brand to creative to marketing to editorial to support.
I lead teams to design for business and customer impact not industry accolades. That's why we use systematic and scientific methodology to define opportunities, test our hypotheses, drive results, and learn on the way to great.
I've worked closely with senior executives to align, define, design, and assess new business models. Because, to quote some of my favorite design leaders, "Design without business is just decoration," and "The business model is the grid."
